Summary:

The Accounts Payable Clerk will help manage the fiscal operations of the agency to ensure the proper safeguarding of agency assets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential job duties/responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Clerk include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Process accounts payable for assigned funds.
  • Get approval signatures on vouchers.
  • Print checks for signatures.
  • Prepare checks to be mailed and/or picked up.
  • Reconcile accounts payable accounts monthly.
  • Update and/or Input new vendors into the system.
  • Prepare 1099’s to be distributed and/or mailed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct reports.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Associate’s Degree (AA/AS) in Accounting or Business (Bachelor’s preferred), and two or more years’ experience with accounts payable and a good understanding of accounting principles.

Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills – Ability to use or demonstrate advanced mathematical skills

Reasoning Ability – Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

 Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent knowledge of the DBA system or database software and basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office application like word processing, PowerPoint, excel and outlook;
